Mauricio Pochettino hasn't yet been shown the door at PSG, but his sacking is expected to be announced in the coming days. With that in mind, the club will be looking to find a replacement to take over in the French capital immediately and according to Jason Burt of the Telegraph, Paris is strongly considering Jose Mourinho as their next boss.
The Special One has a terrific resume, having coached some of the biggest clubs in Europe including Chelsea, Inter, Manchester United, and even Real Madrid. However, despite the interest from PSG, it feels unlikely Mourinho would be keen. He just won the first-ever Europa Conference League title with Roma and seems to be loving life at the Stadio Olimpico. The Portuguese tactician agreed to a three-year deal with the Serie A outfit last May.
PSG is in dire need of a proven manager. After signing Kylian Mbappe to a record-breaking extension and giving him the privilege to what moves the club makes in terms of transfers and even new hires, there is a good chance Mbappe is fully behind the idea of bringing in Mourinho.
But, here's the thing. He's already coached at the highest level and has four major trophies to his name, winning a pair of Champions League titles and a Europa during his time at Old Trafford. It's unknown if Mourinho is even interested in PSG, that's if these reports are true.
Nevertheless, it's something to keep an eye on.
