PSG sporting director Leonardo fired a savage shot at Real Madrid on Tuesday, claiming they were illegally and rudely trying to lure Kylian Mbappe away from the French capital. While the Ligue 1 giants have made it clear they will let their striker leave, it will be on their own terms. That means PSG will be looking for more than the previous €160 million bid made by Los Blancos.

In terms of our position on Real, it seems like a strategy to try to get a no from us, to show that they have tried everything and to wait for a year to get him for free. For the last 2 years, Real Madrid have been behaving like this, it is not correct, illegal even because they contacted the player. It is unacceptable for us, because it is not correct. It is proof of the strategy: an offer comes 1 year before the end of his contract and 7 days before the end of the window. They want us to reject to show to Kylian that they tried everything and to start negotiating for next year.

You can feel the tension. Mbappe would be able to leave PSG for free next summer, but Leonardo remained adamant in his interview that the player had promised he wouldn't put the club in a position where they couldn't get some cash for his departure. Nonetheless, Kylian Mbappe clearly wants out, but it doesn't seem like Paris is going to go down without a fight.

With just six days left in the transfer window, the clock is ticking for Real Madrid to make an improved bid for the France international.
