Real Madrid missed out on the biggest fishes in the transfer market this summer, with Erling Haaland joining Pep Guardiola at Manchester City and Kylian Mbappe shockingly extending his stay at PSG. Despite that, Florentino Perez and Co. aren't worried about Los Blancos falling behind. Contract talks between Real Madrid and Vinicius Jr. are well underway, and Perez made a bold statement when discussing the Brazilian winger's future. Via Fabrizio Romano, Perez boldly declared that Vinicius would be a future Ballon d'Or winner for Real Madrid while revealing that his contract talks were progressing well.
Florentino Pérez tells @elchiringuitotv: "We've no problem for Vinicius' contract extension. We're on it, no issues. He received some proposals but he always said: I only want to stay at Real Madrid". ⚪️🇧🇷 #RealMadrid

“We've no problem for Vinicius' contract extension,” said Perez. “We're on it. No issues. He received some proposals, but in the end he's always said, ‘I only want to stay at Real Madrid.'”
“I am 100% sure Vinicius will be Ballon d'Or one day.”
That's some high praise from the Real Madrid president, who also expressed his confidence in the club's ability to continue competing even after missing out on Mbappe and Haaland. With the partnership formed by Karim Benzema and Vinicius, Perez feels confident that Real Madrid has a trophy-filled future ahead of them. He certainly feels Vinicius is well on his way to racking up a plethora of individual awards, including soccer's biggest honor in the Golden Ball, or the Ballon d'Or.
Last season across all competitions, Vinicius featured in 52 matches for Real Madrid. He scored a total of 21 goals and provided 16 assists in what was a sensational season for the breakout 21-year-old. As for his future in Madrid, Perez has no worries that Vinicius' contract is a matter of time.
