Fans of soccer, or football depending on where you live, all around the world always look forward to this day. It's the day the FIFA unveils the World Cup draw. This time, it was televised live on Fox Sports 1, featuring musical performances and lots of fanfare. But for USA fans, it marked the moment of redemption. The United States men's national team did not qualify for the World Cup in 2018, making this more that much more exciting.

The United States ended up earning a rather favorable draw in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The USA drew Group B. That group includes rival England, Iran and the European Playoff Winner. That comes down to a three-team playoff between Wales, Scotland and Ukraine. It is not yet known how or if Ukraine will even be able to play their match with the war with Russia happening.

The World Cup draw left people feeling all sorts of ways.

Many of those reactions focused on the Black Friday World Cup match between England and USA.

It certainly is not an easy group to contend with. Iran has a slightly lower FIFA ranking than does the U.S. Wales is very dangerous if they come out of their playoff. But overall, this was one of the better possible outcomes.

As glad as the USA should be on their World Cup draw, Iran should be equally excited. They easily could have drawn two power house countries. But they now also have a decent shot at getting out of the group stage.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup will begin on Monday, November 21st. The U.S. will play the first day of the tournament against the European playoff winner.
