Since passing away on Friday, Muhammad Ali has been receiving an outpouring of support from players and coaching staff from all different sports alike. Muhammad Ali has been praised by NBA superstars such as LeBron James and Dwyane Wade and his influence has tremendous for the sports world. In honor of his legacy, the NBA will hold a moment of silence for “the Greatest” on Sunday night at Oracle Arena in Oakland for Game 2 of the NBA Finals.
Commissioner Adam Silver released the following statement:
“(Ali) was an inspirational presence at several major NBA events and was deeply admired by so many throughout the league. While we are deeply saddened by his loss, Muhammad Ali's legacy lives on in every athlete who takes a stand for what he or she believes.”
