The Antonio Conte era with Tottenham has so far gotten off to a promising start.

Conte has guided Tottenham to a pair of wins and one draw result in Premier League play this season. The London-based side is just coming off of the convincing 2-0 home win over Brentford. With Conte once again opting to go with a three-at-the-back setup, Son Heung-Min led the way with a goal, while Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg controlled the pace of play in the midfield.

Tottenham now sits at sixth place in the Premier League and a mere two points behind fourth place West Ham. This is quite notable for a Spurs side that once sat in the bottom half of the table over the early portions of the campaign.

In speaking during a press conference on Friday ahead of Tottenham's upcoming home league encounter with Norwich City, Conte was asked if leading his side to a fourth place finish in the table would be among the biggest achievements of his career. The former Premier League-winning manager kept it simple by opening up on his game-by-game mentality.

“I think in this moment it's more important to go game by game,” Conte said. “I think it's very important to look at ourselves, not others. The table is surely very important. I always said we want to try to stay close to the first positions.

“When you stay close, you can improve with work, we can improve with time, to improve many aspects with the players. And then we'll see what happens. Surely we need to improve, to be very good.

“Also to also hope that other teams can slip. But at the same time, we have to stay there, very close.”

It sure is shaping up to be a chaotic race for the top-four spots in the Premier League table.
