It is no secret that the San Antonio Spurs took some major hits on the backcourt prior to the 2018-19 NBA season. Fortunately, it has provided point guard Bryn Forbes with an opportunity to shine.

Bryn Forbes has been an integral part of San Antonio's three-game winning streak. He attributes his recent success to the consistent role he has been given.

“Honestly, I'm enjoying it more, its making things lot easier (since the changes),” Forbes told the Associated Press, via ESPN. “Especially playing a lot more as a team now. Everybody is in the right positions, and I think we're going the right way. We struggled for a bit, and I think we're finally kind of figuring it out.”

Forbes is coming off his best performance yet after scoring a game-high 22 points on an efficient 7-of-12 shooting. He also managed to provide seven assists and four rebounds in San Antonio's dominant win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. He even earned some praise from Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich, who said he has “carved out” an NBA career for himself.

Forbes has been a welcome addition for a Spurs team that is starved for more ball-handlers. The backcourt suffered a huge blow with the departure of point guard Tony Parker and retirement of shooting guard Manu Ginobili this offseason. Things took a turn for the worst when point guard Dejounte Murray tore his ACL in the preseason.

Fortunately, the emergence of Forbes has provided some stability in the backcourt for the Spurs. The three-year veteran is currently averaging 12.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game this season.
