San Antonio Spurs shooting guard DeMar DeRozan and Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry were teammates for the past six seasons for the team north of the border. The two developed a strong friendship during that time and it must be tough for the two of them to think about playing next season without one another.

Both DeRozan and Lowry are attending USA Basketball minicamp this week and they were on opposite teams during one portion of practice. Lowry has the ball in the corner and attempts to make a skip pass only to have it picked off by, you guessed it, his old teammate.

Ater practice, DeRozan spoke with Josh Lewenberg of TSN Sports. He had this to say about his friend and former teammate, Lowry:

“I think he just got scared when he saw me over there and turned the ball over… It's just great to see him, not even about basketball, just seeing one of your closest friends – laugh with him joke with him. He's genuinely a friend.”

DeRozan teases Lowry a little bit, but he's sure to mention how close the two are. The two had some ups and downs in Toronto, but they both developed into All-Star level talents alongside each other. Although they never achieved the ultimate goal of an NBA championship, both are sure to look back fondly on their time together.

The bad blood between DeRozan and the Raptors organization is no secret. But it's clear that the bad blood doesn't extend to DeRozan and Lowry.
