San Antonio Spurs veteran wing DeMar DeRozan recently performed a drastic act on his Instagram account by completely deleting all his previous posts. The 30-year-old then posted a new story a few days later containing a very cryptic message:

DeRozan recently said he wished he played in the 1990s because there was no social media back then. This could be a follow up to that as he fights through a losing start with the Spurs, which in turn has resulted in trade rumors popping up all over the place.

Now in his second season with San Antonio, DeRozan has actually seen a slight uptick in his production compared to last term. In 19 appearances for the Spurs thus far, the 6-foot-6 swingman is currently averaging 22.1 points (on 53.1 percent shooting), 5.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.6 blocks in 34.0 minutes of play.

However, despite his offensive contributions to the squad, the Spurs have had a terrible start to the new campaign. Currently the owners of a 6-13 record, San Antonio is just two games ahead of the league-worst Golden State Warriors.

DeRozan and the Spurs did have some discussions regarding a contract extension, but nothing came to fruition. The four-time All-Star has a player option for next season, but San Antonio might want to look to make a trade soon and get some value back, especially if things continue to go south.

Then again, this could be just some random musings from DeRozan, who just wanted a clean slate on his Instagram. At the end of the day, it is possible that this mysterious message actually has nothing to do with his future in the league, but this is a situation worth monitoring.
