The San Antonio Spurs take on the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday in the Big Easy, and Spurs shooting guard DeMar DeRozan won't play.

DeRozan is dealing with a sore left knee.

The Spurs enter Saturday with a record of 27-22, good for sixth place in the Western Conference standings.

In his first season with San Antonio, DeMar DeRozan is averaging 21.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game. The four-time All-Star is shooting 46.6 percent from the field, 17.5 percent from beyond the arc and 82.2 percent from the free-throw line.

The Spurs are coming off a 122-120 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. DeRozan played 37:06 in that game and finished with 26 points, nine rebounds and three assists in the defeat while shooting an efficient 12-of-19 from the floor.

Saturday will be just the second game all season that DeMar DeRozan will not play in. The Spurs were able to defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves on Jan. 18 when DeRozan didn't play. The Pelicans are going to be without superstar big man Anthony Davis and stretch forward Nikola Mirotic, making it easier for San Antonio so come away with a victory in New Orleans.

DeRozan leads the Spurs in scoring. San Antonio has to hope that power forward LaMarcus Aldridge is able to play, as he is the second leading scorer on the team.
