San Antonio Spurs star Kawhi Leonard is coming back, and head coach Gregg Popovich has thoughts.

After missing the entire season to this point, Leonard is finally slated to play today, albeit on a minutes restriction.

The team has done well without him, and Popovic said bringing back into the fold will likely take Leonard and his teammates some time to figure out, per Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News.

“There will probably be an adjustment phase in some way, shape or form,” Popovich said. “We’re going to add somebody who is going to have the ball a lot, and he’s pretty good. They’ll all have to adjust.”

Spurs center Pau Gasol concurred with his coach, and thinks that the team will be just fine in no time.

“We know how to play the game,” Gasol said. “We basically just play with the same principles regardless of who is on the floor. With a player the caliber of Kawhi, things should be a little smoother.”

Any time an impact player is out for an extended period of time, it's difficult to incorporate them back into what the team was doing while they've been out. It's also a matter of how long it will take that player to get back into game shape.

But whatever adjustment period the Spurs will have is sure to be short. Leonard is really good, and the Spurs are smart. They'll have no problem getting on track.
