San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich confirms point guard Bryn Forbes will be playing on Saturday against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Bryn Forbes suffered a right calf contusion midway through the second quarter of the Spurs' game against the Detroit Pistons last Wednesday. He needed assistance to leave the court and appeared unable to put much weight on his right foot. It was later revealed that it wasn't as serious as it looked and San Antonio's two-day rest allowed Forbes to recover in time for the team's matinee against OKC.

Forbes, who went undrafted back in 2016, became a part of the Spurs' regular rotation this season after showing significant improvement and consistency over the past two years. He's averaging 11.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists while shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 40.6 percent from beyond the arc.

Having Forbes back gives the Spurs an extra defender to try and contain Thunder's Russell Westbrook. In a must-win game for San Antonio, it will be highly important for them to try to stop the All-Star tandem of Russ and Paul George.

The Spurs are currently clinging on the eighth spot in the Western Conference, and a loss today could put their postseason chances in a precarious state, as teams like the Sacramento Kings and Los Angeles Lakers could steal their spot in the coming weeks.

San Antonio will once again be relying on the duo of LaMarcus Aldridge and DeMar DeRozan to lead them to victory.
