San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich is definitely a character. Recently, the 70-year-old coach was asked about his thoughts on the legacy he will be leaving behind once he finally calls it a career. In true Pop fashion, his response was one that no one would have expected, stating that his legacy will be “food and wine.”

As it turns out, Popovich's vast knowledge in the world of professional basketball is an even match to his grasp of the finer things in the culinary world.

Of course, once he does retire from coaching, Pop will certainly be revered as one of the best to ever coach in the league. His accolades and accomplishments may be one thing — five NBA titles and a three-time Coach of the Year Winner, to name a few — but perhaps what makes him stand out the most is how he changed the game by just being who he is.

Not only is he a coaching genius who pretty much revolutionized the game, but his no-nonsense style has become an unforgettable trademark that has been looked up to by many. Right now, there are a handful of head coaches in the league who have worked with/under Popovich in the past, and they all hold him in very high regard and consider him to be a mentor in the field.

For the time being, though, Popovich has his focus on his team's first-round matchup against the second-seeded Denver Nuggets. The series is now tied at 1-1 as it shifts to San Antonio for Game 3. By stealing the first game in Denver, the Spurs have the advantage in the series and will look to further better their chances by winning both games at home.
