LaMarcus Aldridge is surrounding himself with the unshakable confidence his San Antonio Spurs will turn it around after a 6-12 start to the 2019-20 season. The Spurs have lost nine of their last 10 games after a 114-104 loss at the hands of the Los Angeles Lakers, including eight straight prior to a single-digit win over the New York Knicks last week, but Aldridge argues the belief must be there for anyone wearing the black and silver.

“You have to believe. If you don’t believe, you shouldn’t be here,” said Aldridge on Wednesday, according to Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News. “I believe every guy on the team should believe, should work hard, should try to get better every day. If you don’t believe, you shouldn’t be here.”

The Spurs haven't lost at this rate in 22 seasons, and it's likely tough for an organization centered in winning and cultural values to endure such a tough stretch after managing to crack the playoffs last season.

Aldridge is averaging a sturdy 18.8 points per game, but he's hauling in the fewest rebounds since his rookie season at 6.7 per game. San Antonio has shaken off an era of old stars after Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker retired, but the full-on rebuild hasn't started quite yet with Aldridge and DeMar DeRozan still on the roster getting the lion's share of the minutes.

It might be time for the Spurs to make some deals soon, even if Aldridge believes this roster can turn it around in a loaded Western Conference.
