Lonnie Walker is joining one of the most successful franchises in the NBA and it appears he had an awkward interaction with one of the organization's most iconic players. In a tweet, Walker said that he embarrassed himself when he met the legend himself, Tim Duncan.

It's unclear what Walker did to embarrass himself in front of the San Antonio Spurs legend, but it must not have been all that bad if he was willing to immediately tweet about it. Plus, Duncan is an easy-going guy who was once a rookie that was drafted to play alongside Spurs great David Robinson, so it can't be something new to him. Walker is getting acclimated to life as a San Antonio Spur after he was drafted 18th overall in the 2018 NBA Draft.

The rock-solid franchise has found itself under the microscope of late due to Kawhi Leonard's demand to be traded. Controversy within the organization is almost unheard of—at least publicly. The drama surrounding Leonard has hung over San Antonio like a black cloud since the middle of last season. It became clear that Leonard and the Spurs did not see eye to eye stemming from a quad injury that kept the star player out for a vast majority of the season.

San Antonio is hoping that Walker is the first step out from under the black cloud that currently hangs over them. The Spurs are notorious for drafting well and they hope that choosing Walker is a continuation of that legacy.

Gregg Popovich's squad will have a completely different look next season and beyond. Even though Walker is embarrassing himself in front of Spurs legends at the moment, he may be an integral part of the Spurs return to prominence, much like Duncan was.
