The San Antonio Spurs are now out of title contention after getting eliminated by the Golden State Warriors in the first round of the playoffs. It took the defending champions just five games to take care of business in the series. With the Spurs now officially in offseason mode, veteran guard Manu Ginobili resurfaced on Twitter to give his initial thoughts on the season that was for San Antonio.

It’s an intriguing way for Ginobili to describe how the 2017-18 season meant for him, but it also just shows how challenging the campaign was for San Antonio. The Spurs had to deal with a number of injuries throughout the season. San Antonio star forward Kawhi Leonard played in only nine regular season games, while a bunch of others missed several outings, including Ginobili, who appeared in only 65 games.

The Spurs also barely made the playoffs, finishing the regular season with a 47-35 record. While they did make the postseason cut, the Spurs saw their streak of 18-straight 50-win campaigns.

Adding to the emotional rollercoaster the Spurs went through in the season was the death of Gregg Popovich’s wife, Erin, during the playoffs that stunned not just San Antonio but everyone across the league as well.

As for Manu Ginobili, there’s a possibility that he has already played the last game of his NBA career. The Argentinian hoops legend still have a year left on his current deal with the Spurs, but there are rumors that he could be retiring from the league this offseason.

Ginobili averaged measly numbers of 8.9 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in his 16th season in the NBA.
