The San Antonio Spurs are still on the lookout for a potential trade suitor for veteran big man LaMarcus Aldridge. However, his $24 million salary this season is a roadblock for teams, so Aldridge could find himself getting bought out. If the Spurs opt to proceed with a buyout, several playoff-bound teams have already expressed their interest in acquiring the seven-time All-Star.

Via Shams Charania of The Athletic:

The Spurs are continuing to explore trades for Aldridge, sources said. Should Aldridge receive a buyout, Miami, Portland and Boston are expected to be leading suitors.

Aldridge saw a dip in his numbers this season with the Spurs, with averages of just 13.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks through 25.9 minutes in 21 appearances. His regressed role within the team led both sides to mutually agree to part ways for the second half of the season.

Despite his dip in production, Aldridge is still a serviceable player who can make an impact. His ability to coexist with more talented players on a team's roster makes him a viable option for teams like the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics, who are hoping to make another deep run in the postseason. The Heat have also reportedly discussed a trade for Aldridge.

A reunion with the Portland Trail Blazers is also being targeted as Damian Lillard has previously expressed his desires to bring Aldridge back to the team. The former Texas standout played in Oregon from 2006 to 2015, which was highlighted by multiple postseason runs made alongside Lillard.

Amid all the interest, LaMarcus Aldridge's situation is still pretty much uncertain, though he is expected to find a new team in the near future leading up to the March 25 trade deadline. We'll just have to wait and see which contender he winds up on in the coming weeks as his time with the Spurs draws to a close.
