This was just vintage Rudy Gay. He no longer plays above the rim as often as he did, but when he does it is always a sight to see. The Spurs' acquisition of Gay has been lauded as an underrated move by the front office. He has been a very solid contributor since signing with the team.
In the Spurs' first 10 games, Ruy Gay is averaging 13.9 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. He is shooting 50.9 percent from the field and 50 percent from three.
The veteran forward has a long history of being a consistently high scorer for his teams. However, those teams have found little success with him in the lineup. Gay's impact on those failures is debatable, but it's hard to deny the fact that he has bounced around the league even during his prime years.
Rudy Gay and the Spurs defeated the Warriors Sunday night, 102-94. He finished with 19 points, five rebounds and, three blocks. The Spurs are off to a decent start despite trading their superstar player over the summer. With the win over the defending champions, they now move to 8-7 on the season.
