Daisy Ridley must have said, “Show me the money!” in her contract negotiations to return to Star Wars. The Rey actress will return in an upcoming film and her salary has been revealed.

A huge payday

Jeff Sneider of The InSneider is reporting that Ridley will be paid $12.5 million to return to Star Wars. That is a big payday for the star, who will make her triumphant return as Rey after over a half-decade away from the role.

Starting in 2015's The Force Awakens, Ridley has played Rey in the recent sequel trilogy. At the end of 2019's The Rise of Skywalker, Ridley's character reveals herself as a Skywalker. That continues the lineage that includes the likes of Luke and Anakin Skywalker.

Clearly, there were big plans in place for Ridley's character. And it was in 2023 that it was confirmed that she would return to the galaxy far, far away.

Daisy Ridley found mainstream fame thanks to her Star Wars role. She has also starred in the recent live-action/CGI hybrid Peter Rabbit films and Murder on the Orient Express. Some of her other credits include Chaos Walking and The Marsh King's Daughter. Coming up, she will star in Young Woman and the Sea.

The Star Wars franchise began with its big-screen films like A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. In recent years, since the release of The Rise of Skywalker, the franchise has begun focusing on the small screen. Thanks to series such as The Mandalorian and Ahsoka, the franchise hasn't been needed on the big screen. They did recently announce The Mandalorian & Grogu, an upcoming film.
