Ben Roethlisberger could potentially be playing his last ever home game when the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Jacksonville Jaguars in the divisional round of the AFC playoffs. However, the Steelers quarterback might not be saying goodbye to Heinz Field just yet.

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Big Ben doesn’t believe Sunday’s game will be his swansong in front of his home fans just yet, opening the door for a possible return in 2018.

“I don't think it is my last (home game), but I'm not thinking about that right now,” Roethlisberger said Wednesday while at his locker. “I'm going to go out and play this one and give everything I have.”

Roethlisberger, 35, contemplated retirement last offseason, but he clearly hasn’t shown signs of slowing down. He had another stellar season in 2017 as he finished with 4,251 passing yards and 28 touchdown passes against 14 interceptions.

But despite Big Ben's strong play, he has been unwilling to commit to another season in order to focus on the current one. He says he’s intent on every making every moment on the football field count as it could be his last.

“You have to treat every game like it could be your last because you never know when it is,” Roethlisberger said. “We saw an example obviously earlier this season with [injured linebacker] Ryan [Shazier]. You never know when it could be your last. I'm hoping it's not his last, but you have to go out and play every play and enjoy every play and every game like it could be your last.”
