Is Ben Roethlisberger really retiring after the 2021 season? Well, Pittsburgh Steelers fans might have to wait until the end of the campaign to find out.
After the Steelers' Week 13 win over the Baltimore Ravens, Roethlisberger was asked about the recent talks saying he would be retiring after the end of the season. According to the rumors, Big Ben has privately told his teammates and some members of the organization that it is his last year with the team as he prepares to bid farewell at the conclusion of the campaign.
However, the 39-year-old QB refused to talk about the rumors–though he might have hinted that he has talked about it to some.
Does this mean Ben has talked about retirement to some of his teammates or members of the Steelers franchise? Well, it is possible since the issue was leaked.
As Ben Roethlisberger mentioned, though, he'll address his future at the end of the season and Pittsburgh fans will know his official decision by then. Perhaps he's still contemplating about it?
It has been a rough season for the veteran QB and the Steelers, especially after they got off to a rather poor 1-3 start. They have since bounced back and at 6-5-1, they still have a legitimate shot at making the postseason.
If this is truly the final season of his storied career, the Big Ben is certainly not going down without a fight. He had two touchdowns against the Ravens, and by the looks of it, he wants more.
