Rumor has it that Deshaun Watson is headed to the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason. Podcast co-host and former NFL quarterback Shaun King tweeted the rumor Wednesday afternoon.

But don't believe everything you read on the internet. Multiple reports have since been released discrediting the rumor. Steelers Radio Network host Gerry Dulac tweeted that he heard the exact opposite from team sources.

Brooke Pryor is ESPN's Steelers reporter. She tweeted that she heard “much of the same” that Dulac did during the 2022 NFL Combine.

According to Pryor's sources, Watson's relationship with Steelers defensive coach Brian Flores was “exaggerated” and “wouldn't be a factor” in any potential trade between Pittsburgh and the Houston Texans.

The Steelers are running out of time to find their quarterback for the 2022-2023 season. Tuesday, two teams finalized the solutions to their quarterback vacancies. The Green Bay Packers secured a deal with Aaron Rodgers, while the Denver Broncos received Russell Wilson in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks.

Then on Wednesday, news broke that the Indianapolis Colts traded quarterback Carson Wentz to the Washington Commanders. Meanwhile, the Steelers are in a very similar boat as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Both teams lost their star veteran quarterbacks to retirement following the 2021-2022 season.

With Rodgers and Wilson taken, Watson is arguably the most talented quarterback left available. He is likely to find a new place of employment in the offseason, but it isn't with the Steelers.
