Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver James Washington signed a free agent contract with the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas, who was in the market for a wide receiver after trading away Amari Cooper, signed the Texas native to a one-year contract. Washington made some interesting comments about Mike Tomlin's Steelers during his introductory press conference with the Cowboys on Thursday, as reported by NBC Sports.

“I feel like with everything that transpired at Pittsburgh, I didn’t really get to show my full self,” Washington said, via Jori Epstein of USA Today. “We had a crowded room at receiver. But nothing against anyone else, I feel like there’s a lot of meat left on the bone. I didn’t really get to fully develop myself and make strides like I wanted to.

It sure sounds like James Washington is taking a shot at Mike Tomlin and the Steelers here. The newest Cowboys receiver is insisting that it's “nothing against anyone else”, though by saying there was “meat left on the bone”, he's certainly implying that Pittsburgh would have been better off utilizing him then some of their other wideouts.

Washington was drafted by the Steelers in the second round of the 2018 draft. Upon arriving in Pittsburgh, Washington was immediately stuck behind Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster, then JuJu, Diontae Johnson, and Chase Claypool on the depth chart.

Those are all talented players, but Washington feels as if he deserved more of a chance to show what he can do. He flashed his skills in college for Oklahoma State, exceeding 1000 yards with double digit touchdowns in each of his last three seasons.

If Washington can replicate that success in Dallas, he'll make himself look good and the Steelers bad in the process.
