Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster has experienced quite an eventful offseason. Fortunately, it appears he is faster and stronger than ever going into the 2019 NFL season.

Smith-Schuster made a trip across the pond to assist in the launch of the NFL Academy. It seems he even managed to set a personal best in the 40-yard dash as well, via Instagram:

It is encouraging to see that Smith-Schuster appears to be in tip-top shape at this point in the offseason. He clocked in a 4.54 time during the 2017 NFL Combine. The 22-year-old has managed to shave some precious seconds off of his time since then with a 4.5-flat.

Smith-Schuster will need every edge he can gain on his opponents moving forward. He is set to take on his biggest challenge yet as the clear-cut No. 1 wideout in the Steelers' passing game. The tumultuous departure of Antonio Brown left quite a notable void in the receiving corps. Pittsburgh is hoping that the emergence of their young star can help alleviate some of the star power the lost in recent years.

Fortunately, Smith-Schuster has proven to be more than capable of thriving in his new role. He flourished as the complementary option to Brown in his first two years and was even named a Pro Bowler for his efforts in 2018. Regardless, it will be interesting to see how well he can adapt to drawing the attention of an entire defense moving forward. His video should effectively continue to put the league on notice of his speed.
