Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin didn't mince his words when he offered some advice to rookie wide receiver Dionte Johnson according to Joe Rutter of triblive.com.

“Don’t fumble anymore.”

Johnson fumbled on the Steelers second play from scrimmage on Monday night and it led to the Cincinnati Bengals getting an early field goal.

After the fumble, Tomlin didn't bench him though and that paid off in a big way as Johnson finished with six catches for 77 yards and a touchdown.

After the fumble JuJu Smith-Schuster pulled him aside and told him to keep his head up. Tomlin didn't feel like he needed to give the same type of advice, because he is a pro and knows how to bounce back.

“These guys are at this level because they are able to bounce back,” Tomlin said. “You’re not a National Football League player unless you can stare adversity in the face and overcome it. It’s probably not the first time he’s put the ball on the ground in his life. You show me any successful person in any walk of life, I’ll show you a guy that’s failed a lot and found ways to overcome it and endure.

Tomlin said he knows that these guys can bounce back from negative plays but he likes to see how they can bounce back from positive plays because sometimes that is harder.

“I’m not surprised when these guys respond appropriately to negativity. I’m more concerned about how they respond to positivity, to success and their ability to remain singularly focused. That’s more telling about the man in today’s game.”
