The Pittsburgh Steelers are hosting free agent Melvin Ingram for a visit on Monday as training camp approaches, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The former Los Angeles Chargers defensive end is looking for a new team after spending his first nine seasons of the NFL with the Chargers.

The Steelers could use more help in the pass-rush department after losing Bud Dupree to the Tennessee Titans. Rapaport notes interest from the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs as well:

Ingram went to three straight Pro Bowls from 2017-2019 before playing only seven games for Los Angeles in 2020. He had only 10 total tackles and didn't record a single sack. The 32-year-old recorded a career-high 10.5 sacks in both 2015 and 2017.

The Steelers had one of the best defenses in the NFL last season with T.J. Watt leading the way, but they could still use more help heading into 2021. They didn't have much money to make any key additions, and Ingram would be a cheap option who's looking to have a bounce-back season.

Pittsburgh started last season 10-0 before slumping to a 12-4 record. The Steelers then lost in the Wild Card Round to the Cleveland Browns, ending their season earlier than they hoped.

We'll see if Pittsburgh is able to sign Melvin Ingram to help its defense for 2021.
