The Pittsburgh Steelers got their franchise quarterback in Kenny Pickett. The Pitt product was drafted 20th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, much to the delight of fans. Many people are hoping that Pickett can be the face of the next successful era of Steelers football.

Among those excited for the team's selection are Steelers stars TJ Watt and Cameron Heyward. Watt, one of the greatest defensive players of his generation, had a simple reaction to his team's selection in the draft.

As for Heyward, the outspoken Steeler had a few kind words for Pickett, as well as some jokes at his expense.

Overblown concerns with hand size aside, Pickett landed in the perfect spot with the Steelers. Aside from the home-town factor, Pickett will be playing for an organization that prides itself on success. Mike Tomlin and the rest of the coaching crew will ensure that their new quarterback develops into the absolute best player that he can be.

The likely play for Pickett in the upcoming season will be to ride the bench for the most part. The Steelers picked up Mitch Trubisky in the off-season as a stop-gap option at QB. They will likely have Trubisky start and let Pickett learn the ropes of the offense from the bench, in order to prepare him for Year 2.

Pickett will have some big shoes to fill in Pittsburgh. Ben Roethlisberger was one of the greatest quarterbacks of his generation, and in his first year starting, he led the team to the Championship Game. Asking Pickett to do that might be a bit much. However, it just goes to show the level that he'll have to achieve for that team.
