The Brooklyn Nets are out of the NBA playoffs, and just about everyone is stunned. Kevin Durant gave it everything he had, pouring in 48 points, nine rebounds, and six assists in a valiant effort to carry the Nets on his back.
Durant even sank the game-tying fadeaway to force overtime when his team looked down and out.

This epic shot had Kevin Durant's peers absolutely buzzing with what they just witnessed, including some ex-teammates and rivals.
That is insane @KDTrey5

Some others noted how Kevin Durant's large-person feet were what cost him the potential game-winner in the seven-game series. The shot would have immortalized him and been one of his defining career moments, but instead his toe was on the line and the game went an extra five minutes.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 the move was still cold ! https://t.co/DGtpDLNEEv

If KD wore one shoe size smaller it would’ve been a 3 ball for the win!

But despite all his best efforts, and then some, Kevin Durant and his Nets fell short in Game 7 against the Milwaukee Bucks. On the final shot of the game, it was quite literal.

Safe to say NBA Twitter had nothing but respect for the performance KD put forth in the series' do-or-die game. Stars came out to pay homage to Durant's all-time showing, not just in Game 7, but for the series.
KD had zero legs left. Left it all on the floor tonight. Respect.

This season becomes a huge what-if for Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets. Kyrie Irving's untimely ankle injury forced him out of the series since Game 4 and James Harden was a shell of himself dealing with his own hamstring issue.
With the field so open this year, these NBA playoffs became a war of attrition as star players started getting hit with various issues. These injuries affected the outcome of nearly ever series, and Kevin Durant's Nets were no exception.
But the fact that Kevin Durant nearly managed to carry the hobbled squad on his own shows you exactly the caliber of player that he is. NBA stars around the league surely know it, too.
