Chris Paul has achieved a lot in his first season with the Phoenix Suns, both as an individual and for the team. However, there is one record he is really hoping to break this time around.

Talking to Maria Taylor on ESPN+, Paul was asked about the individual record he wants to break next. In a rather hilarious response, Paul admitted he wants to end his record of not winning any championship first.

“Shoot, I'm trying to break my record of not winning no championships,” the Suns star told Taylor, per Kellan Olson of 98.7 Arizona Sports.

While it is certainly a funny exchange, you can't help but feel for Chris Paul. He is undoubtedly one of the best pure point guards the league has ever seen, and one can say he is one of the most impactful players in the league today after leading the Suns to the second seed in the West–breaking their 10-year postseason drought in the process.

There are several  legends in the game that retired without winning an NBA title, including Karl Malone, Charles Barkley, John Stockton and Steve Nash. While they are still considered greats and Hall of Famers, their lack of titles still dented their legacies (even a little bit).

With that said, it is understandable why Paul continues his search for his first ring. While the Suns are still considered as underdogs in the West, it is safe to say CP3 has a good chance to make it to the NBA Finals with the current team he has. Besides, he has the playoff experience and talented teammates in Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton to make that possible.
