Phoenix Suns fans have heard it all before. Their team picked Deandre Ayton first overall in the 2018 NBA Draft, ahead of guys like Luka Doncic and Trae Young. To be perfectly frank, most of them probably even agreed that they made a mistake with that pick. But no matter how you felt about it then, Suns fans are glad Ayton is on their team right now.
The big man finished the soon-to-be iconic game-winning dunk with 0.9 on the clock to give the Suns a commanding 2-0 series lead in the Western Conference Finals.

After the game, Deandre Ayton was asked during the postgame presser about the never-ending narrative of him being compared to Young and Doncic, and the Suns big man responded:
“At the end of the day, we're all different players. I'm a 7-footer and they're two point guards. I don't know what you can compare, but me I play as hard as I can. This is my team. I dominate the best way I can for this team and I'll try to take this team as far as I can.”
Deandre Ayton has silenced every critic with his spectacular postseason performances. After creating his unforgettable Suns moment in Game 2, winning a ring is all that's left for Ayton to completely vanquish the slander surrounding him.
