Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker tested positive for COVID-19, which is the reason why he was put into the league's health and safety protocol heading into training camp.

The Suns announced on Sunday that Booker won't be able to participate in Monday's Media Day and at the start of training camp because of the protocol. Hours later during a Twitch stream, Booker himself confirmed that he's positive of the dreaded virus, noting that he has been dealing with it for about a week now.

Per Kellan Olson of Arizona Sports, Booker also shared some of the symptoms he's dealing with, including the lost of sense of taste and smell. The Suns scorer, however, refused to say if he's been vaccinated or not.

The NBA continues to push for players to get vaccinated, with more and more cities also putting up strict rules and regulations to encourage people to get vaccinated.

While there have been some resistance from some players about vaccination, it is worth noting that 90 percent of NBA players have been vaccinated, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

It remains to be seen when Devin Booker will return to the Suns, but as what the previous rules ask, he will likely need to go “10 days or more after the first positive test or onset of symptoms” or “test negative twice at least 24 hours apart via PCR testing.”

By the looks of it, Booker appears to be on his way to recovery. The Suns, for their part, can only hope for his quick healing and be patient in his return.
