Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker didn't hold back after Sunday night's 123-90 Game 7 loss to the Dallas Mavericks. He called it as it was, an “ass whooping.”

After a reporter asked what his mindset was heading into halftime down 57-27. Booker's answer was as blunt as honest as it gets.

“I'm thinking about making a push. That's what we went into halftime saying. We say, ‘crazier s**t's been done,' we stuck with that mindset,” Booker told reporters following the game. “We didn't have it coming out of half either. That was a good, old fashioned ass whooping, beginning to end.”

It's hard to argue with that. Dallas Mavericks 23-year old superstar Luka Doncic matched the Suns' 27 first-half points all by his lonesome in the opening two quarters. He finished with 35 on 12-of-19 shooting in 30 minutes.

But it was a team affair for Dallas. Spencer Didwiddie came off the bench as Doncic's co-star, scoring 30 on 5-of-7 shooting from three. Jalen Brunson added 24 points and Reggie Bullock was an absurd +44 while scoring just 5 points.

Booker's first Game 7 of his career was underwhelming, to say the least. He contributed just 11 points on 3-of-14 shooting in a -41 performance. With an underwhelming series from Chris Paul sustaining itself over the past four games, the Dallas game plan was simple: double-team Booker and get the ball out of his hand is. It worked. Booker couldn't figure out the Dallas double-team and the Suns suffered for it.

With the early exit, the Suns' once-promising future is suddenly in doubt. One thing is for certain, the Suns' superstar needs to play better in the future to avoid another “ass whooping.”
