On Tuesday, the All-NBA teams were released and– as always– there were quite a few snubs. One of the snubs was Devin Booker, a player many believed deserved a spot on one of the teams but got overlooked. Phoenix Suns head coach Monty Williams gave a rather blunt answer to Booker's exclusion from the All-NBA teams after a marvelous season for the young shooting guard.

The former 1st round pick out of Kentucky has been a huge part of the Suns' meteoric rise to the top of the Western Conference. On the year Booker averaged 25.6 points with 4.2 rebounds and 4.3 assists while the Suns finished with the 2nd best mark in the West.

His playoff performance has been masterful, including a 47-point outburst against the Los Angeles Lakers in a clinching Game 6 that sent them to the 2nd round. While Booker more than likely deserved a spot on the All-NBA teams, Phoenix has other things on their minds as they are just four wins away from a trip to the NBA Finals.

Damian Lillard, Luka Doncic, Chris Paul, Stephen Curry, Bradley Beal, and Kyrie Irving took home All-NBA honors from the guard position, so the competition is tough for Booker. Donovan Mitchell– who has led the Utah Jazz to the top mark in the NBA and was named an All-Star– also got left off of the All-NBA teams.

However, their path might be a little tougher now after the news that Chris Paul has entered health and safety protocols. Nonetheless, the Suns are waiting for the conclusion of the series between the Los Angeles Clippers and Utah Jazz, so they have some time to sit back and relax.

Booker will have to wait at least one more season before earning All-NBA honors, and a deep run and a trip to the NBA Finals might be enough for people to finally take notice.
