Early Monday morning, ESPN published a report by Kevin Arnovitz that detailed the workings of the Phoenix Suns' front office. Needless to say, it was not a positive report.

Suns owner Robert Sarver was described as an owner who micromanaged constantly. The story contains multiple anecdotes of Sarver laying into his own staff and players, including one about Hall of Famer Grant Hill.

Per Arnovitz, Sarver was upset at Hill for a poor defensive sequence:

“There was the time in January 2012 when Sarver dressed down future Hall of Famer Grant Hill in the locker room at halftime for allowing former Sun Vince Carter to go off for a quick 15 points. One of Hill's teammates recently stated that the team found Sarver's actions utterly repugnant.”

Now, Grant Hill has completely denied the story. Arizona Sports Radio host John Gambarado caught up with Hill, who has a different view on what happened.

Someone has got to be stretching the truth here. Arnovitz has multiple accounts of Robert Sarver being heavy-handed with his players, and it would be odd if Grant Hill was simply spared this treatment.

Regardless, the Suns organization is still in shambles. The front office has been a rotating door of younger personnel, and none have stuck around for long.

Even with promising young players like Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton, the team has floundered through the 2018-19 season. Without some front office continuity and significant player growth, the Suns could be stuck in this slump for years to come.
