The Phoenix Suns are in the running to get Zion Williamson in the upcoming draft, but on Sunday night, they shocked the defending champion Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena.

Suns coach Igor Kokoskov was extremely proud of his team following the big win. He talked about how amazing it was for his team to experience, per Duane Rankin of AZ Central:

“I can't describe how proud I am of the guys considering  they played in the world on their home court,” Kokoskov said.

It was a bright spot in a really tough season for Phoenix. However, it shows some promise for the club's future, especially since they will be bringing in one of the top picks in the upcoming draft.

Kokoskov was not focused on the future of the team, though. He was more concerned with enjoying the moment his team earned:

“It was a pretty special moment and a special game for our group.” Kokoskov said.

To put the win into perspective, the Suns are 16-52 following the surprise win. The Warriors sit in first place in the Western Conference with a 45-21 record.

This Suns team has been surprising a lot of people lately. On top of the Warriors win, they also recently beat the Los Angeles Lakers and pretty much triggered them throwing in the towel. Perhaps more impressive than both of those wins was their recent victory over the NBA's best record-holder Milwaukee Bucks, which was actually their second win over the Bucks this season.

Teams seem to be overlooking the Suns at this point in the season, and they are taking advantage. If it keeps happening, Phoenix will keep surprising people and continue to show what the future of the franchise might look like.
