Devin Booker earned his first big moment of the season, as fans chanted “MVP” during his game-winning free throws on Monday night. The Phoenix Suns had just beaten the last undefeated team left in the league in the Philadelphia 76ers, with Booker's 40-point performance becoming the perfect staple of it all.

Los Angeles Lakers forward and former teammate Jared Dudley predicted this would be the season Booker finally gets into the All-Star Game:

Booker has had plenty of scoring pyrotechnics in his brief stint in the NBA. While the averages of 26.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game fall shy of last season's numbers, improved shooting efficiency and an improved team could help catapult him into the All-Star Game.

The Suns are 5-2 this season and at the heels of the Western Conference-leading Los Angeles Lakers to start their 2019-20 campaign. Phoenix has notched statement wins against the Los Angeles Clippers and now the Sixers while taking the Denver Nuggets to overtime before falling by one point.

Booker is shooting an impressive 53.5% from the floor, 50.0% from deep, and a cool 90.3% from the foul line — likely the result of having a capable ball handler on the floor next to him at all times, along with reliable shooters who put him away from the heavy isolation style of play he was forced to play during his first four seasons.

If the Suns can be part of the playoff race in the West, Booker could have a grand case to make it into the All-Star conversation, now with Klay Thompson out of the picture and Paul George still yet to return and bound to be in a load management situation.
