With Game 7 just an hour away, all eyes will be on the stars Sunday night. Those stars of both the Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks whose legacies will take shape into a new form tonight, are Chris Paul, Devin Booker, Jalen Brunson, DeAndre Ayton, and Luka Doncic.

For the Suns especially, all eyes will be on their future Hall of Fame point guard. Paul, just like in the NBA Finals last year, faces a game that will define the legacy of the ‘Point God' — one way or another.

Suns Head Coach Monty Williams is not concerned about his veteran point guard at all heading into Game 7 this evening.

“In games like this, on days like this, this is when he does his best stuff,” Williams said. “And I'm looking forward to that.”

Paul has been a part of some very talented teams (particularly with both the Los Angeles Clippers and Houston Rockets), but the 37-year-old is still without an NBA title to his name. Fair or not, the clock is ticking on Paul to solidify his career with a championship. This season may be one of his final shots at one.

There is no way around it — this has been a very tough series for Paul offensively.

Through the first six games against the Mavs, Chris Paul is averaging just 14 points, four rebounds, and six assists per game on 55% shooting from the field. While those numbers seem fine on the surface level, Chris Paul put up an average of 22 points and 11 assists per game just one series ago against the New Orleans Pelicans.

In addition, after scoring 28 points in Game 1 and 19 points in Game 2, Paul put up three straight performances where the 18-year veteran saw scoring totals of 12 points, four points, and five points, respectively.

For Chris Paul's legacy's sake, let's hope that Williams' belief in him will pay dividends tonight.
