Less than a week before the NBA season, Jamal Crawford still doesn't have a team. This has come as quite a surprise for many fans and players given Crawford's track record and ability to still score even at an advanced age. Things have taken a turn for the better for Crawford, as the Phoenix Suns have reportedly now reached out to Crawford with a contract for the veteran's minimum.

Crawford was seen at the Suns' stadium on Friday, so this news doesn't come as a huge surprise.

The Suns could use a guy like Crawford. They have one of the youngest rosters in the NBA, and Crawford's veteran experience could help in the locker room and on the court.

Crawford averaged 10.3 points and 2.3 assists per game on 41.5 percent shooting from the field for the Minnesota Timberwolves last year. He is also a three-time Sixth Man of the Year awardee and is still very much capable of putting up big scoring numbers any given night.

Also, Suns star Devin Booker would definitely benefit from having a mentor like Crawford. Plus, the Suns need all the help they can get if they want to be able to contend in the stacked Western Conference.

It will be interesting to see if Crawford accepts the offer or if there are any other offers that may come his way with the season less than a week away.
