It has already been a year filled with turmoil for the Phoenix Suns. Just two months into 2017-18 NBA season, the Suns have already fired a head coach in Earl Watson and traded away a key player in point guard Eric Bledsoe as they remain mired at the bottom of the Western Conference.

Despite all that, it seems their issues this season could be summed up with this one play on Friday night versus the NBA-leading Boston Celtics, via Bleacher Report:

This is the second time this season that the Suns have made headlines after a video caught them all taking off at the exact same moment versus the Portland Trail Blazers back in mid-October. Unfortunately, the highlight was not as flattering this time around.

At first glance, it was understandable why the defense would allow a porous three-point shooter like guard Marcus Smart take an open shot from deep. However, there is no excuse for the effort (or lack thereof) displayed from that point on.

Despite their strange defensive lapse, the Suns managed to give the 20-4 Celtics a run for their money. However, their late comeback ultimately fell short as they went on to lose 111-116 to Boston. Phoenix will try to get back into the win column on Sunday against a Philadelphia 76ers team that is expected to be without budding star Joel Embiid.
