Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay and Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor will face off in a matchup of the minds as they square off in Super Bowl 56. Although they are opponents, they unintentionally teamed up to make Super Bowl history.

The 38-year-old Taylor and the 36-year-old McVay combined to be the youngest head-coach duo in Super Bowl history. In terms of all NFL championship history, this matchup is the youngest since 1936, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

McVay, who is appearing in his second career Super Bowl, is in his fifth year as the Rams head coach. Prior to landing the gig, he spent seven seasons with the Washington Commanders, including three years as the offensive coordinator. His Rams teams have been innovative on offense throughout his tenure. He was previously thought to be leaving his post after this season but has shut those rumors down.

Taylor is in his third season as the Bengals' head coach. He has four years of experience working with quarterbacks for the Miami Dolphins and spent two seasons on McVay's coaching staff with the Rams, working with wide receivers and quarterbacks. He used his expertise to tap into Joe Burrow's potential and bring the Bengals to the Super Bowl for the first time in over 30 years.

Both young head coaches have gotten the best out of their rosters, which were both built very differently. The Rams are set up to be a juggernaut for the next few years while the Bengals look like the team of the future.
