And just like that, the San Francisco 49ers are on the board in Super Bowl LIV! With the Kansas City Chiefs receiving the opening kickoff en route to going three and out, the 49ers and veteran placekicker Robbie Gould immediately capitalized and score the first points of the Sunday evening affair in Miami.

After taking over for the team's first possession of the outing, the 49ers promptly marched down the field but were unable to ultimately find the end zone. Instead, the first points of Super Bowl LIV came courtesy of Gould, who knocked the football through the uprights from just under 40 yards out. Gould has now made 16 consecutive field goals.

The 49ers look poised with the typically high powered Chiefs having a bit of trouble getting things going early. However, it was definitely a small victory for the Chiefs defense by not allowing San Francisco to score a quick touchdown. Now, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and company will look to answer on the other end.
