The North Carolina Tar Heels have their hearts set on returning to the National Championship Game.  After Armando Bacot and RJ Davis decided to stick with the Tar Heels, all eyes turned to Caleb Love.

With an average of 15.9 points per game during the regular season and 18.8 points per game during the NCAA Tournament, Love was one of North Carolina's key players. UNC will not have to worry about replacing his production.

Love announced on Twitter with a highlight reel that he will be returning to North Carolina for his junior season. With both the NBA draft and the transfer portal looming as options, he chose to head back to Chapel Hill.

Lest there was any doubt, Love responded to a North Carolina fan's meme about keeping his grandmother in a cage until he made his decision.

Although Love's shoot-first mentality cost North Carolina a lot in the big game — he took a game-high 24 shots and converted only five — getting him back is great news for UNC. Brady Manek graduating leaves a lot of scoring on the table and Love is just the guy to help keep the offense afloat.

Head coach Hubert Davis said in a statement that he is thrilled to have Love back at North Carolina.

“Caleb's passion for this team and program are what motivates and drives him to win a national championship and eventually have a long, successful career in the NBA. Nobody is better at taking and making big shots in pressure situations. He's one of the most gifted players I've ever been around and I'm extremely excited to coach him another season.”

With so many key players returning, North Carolina should be able to be more than the eighth seed in next year's March Madness.
