Sacramento Kings point guard De’Aaron Fox and Utah Jazz shooting guard Donovan Mitchell have been standouts in the first two days of Team USA training camp in Las Vegas, according to Tony Jones of The Athletic.

Jones is reporting no one in training camp has been able to stay in front of Fox, who is arguably the fastest player in the NBA.

Team USA head coach Gregg Popovich spoke highly of Mitchell after Monday's practice, saying the Jazz guard “has a lot of offensive abilities that we like.”

All signs point toward Donovan Mitchell and De’Aaron Fox making the 12-man roster which will compete at the World Cup in China.

Last season for the Jazz, Mitchell averaged 23.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.2 assists while shooting 43.2 percent from the field, 36.2 percent from beyond the arc and 80.6 percent from the free-throw line. The youngster has established himself as one of the best scorers in the league at the two-guard spot.

For the Kings in 2018-19, Fox put up 17.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 7.3 assists. The lefty shot 45.8 percent overall, 37.1 percent from the 3-point line and 72.7 percent from the charity stripe.

Team USA saw a bunch of All-Stars drop out before training camp started. A lot of experts believe USA could lose the World Cup as a result.

Don't tell that to Fox and Mitchell, though, who are two fierce competitors. The two youngsters are looking forward to their first Team USA experience and showing the world they are more than capable of carrying the load for Team USA.
