The pre-tournament fears have come to back to haunt Team USA. The United States lost their opening match at the Tokyo Olympics against a formidable France team in stunning fashion, 83-76.

A couple of international stars in Philadelphia 76ers' Joel Embiid and Chicago Bulls' Nikola Vucevic made sure to react to Team USA's shocking defeat. Safe to say both All-Stars were quite content at the Americans' demise, with both translations of their tweets in full support of the US's rivals.

Nikola Vucevic played most of his NBA career alongside France's Evan Fournier on the Orlando Magic. Joel Embiid, meanwhile, has also played with former French teammate Timothe Luwawu-Cabbarot. But at the same time, the Sixers star might just be openly rooting against Team USA, being that he himself is strong example of the growing talent outside of the US.

The French used a rabid 16-2 run in the final minutes of this one to stun Team USA, who couldn't buy a basket even with some of the best offensive weapons on the planet. Instead, it was Vooch's former teammate Evan Fournier who piled on the points for a game-high 28, including the go-ahead triple to give France a 76-74 lead with less than a minute to play.

This isn't the end of the world for Team USA, but the world surely isn't scared of them like they used to be.
