Terrell Owens once again finds himself among the finalist to earn a selection to the Pro Football Hall of Fame as part of the 15 remaining nominees for the 2018 class.

Since he's become eligible for induction to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Owens has strongly voiced that he believes he's deserving of the prestigious honor. He once again made that clear on Wednesday morning during an appearance on “Good Morning Football,” according to Edward Lewis of NFL.com.

“You're asking writers to really nominate and [choose] guys who have worked hard during the course of their career,” Owens said. “These guys probably never have played the game—they don't know what it's like. So, again, you're putting your career at their hands. So that's what I see that needs to be changed. … As far as my body of work, I constantly say it, it speaks for itself. I mean I played with the best receiver, the greatest receiver of all-time and that's Jerry Rice. And I think when you see what I've done compared to what he's done, you know, like I said, then there's no comparison.”

In 16 seasons in the NFL, Owens put together an illustrious career that saw him earn six Pro Bowl selections, five First-Team All-Pro nods, and led the league in receiving touchdowns three times that he racked up playing for the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, and Cincinnati Bengals. He currently ranks second all-time with 15,934 receiving yards and his 153 receiving touchdowns rank third.

The 44-year-old holds numerous NFL records. He's the only player to have an 800-yard receiving season with five different teams. He is also tied with Hall of Famers Marvin Harrison and  Jerry Rice with 11 consecutive seasons with at least six receiving touchdowns. He is also tied with former tight end Tony Gonzalez with 15 straight years with at least 700 receiving yards.

Owens has certainly put together a Hall of Fame-worthy career. His antics on and off the field that have rubbed many the wrong way. It had contributed to him being moved around so often in his career and has painted a picture as a difficult teammate to deal with. This was apparent during his one year with the Eagles having constant verbal barbs with Donovan McNabb and back with the 49ers in a similar situation with Jeff Garcia.

Despite all of that, Owens' resume on the field will eventually overcome any of the hesitations to put him into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He may finally get his wish this year if he is selected among the 15 finalists for the nomination.
