The Houston Texans have been actively shopping Jadeveon Clowney and in their talks with the Miami Dolphins, they have made it clear they would like Laremy Tunsil. According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, the Texans hope to improve their offensive line by trading away Clowney, which is why they have their sites set on Tunsil.

Tunsil is entering his fourth season in the league and is the cornerstone of the Dolphins' offensive line. The Miami offense is lacking talent right now and some consider Tunsil the best player on that side of the ball.

A couple of days ago, the Miami Herald reported the Dolphins thought they were the leader to get Clowney, but the Texans have also had discussions with the Seattle Seahawks, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, and the New York Jets.

Clowney has met with players inside the Dolphins organization, including coach Brian Flores, which means trade talks have gone past just preliminary discussions.

It's unclear if the Texans are asking for Tunsil plus another player or draft picks, or if it would be just Clowney for Tunsil straight up.

Either way, at this point, it's clear the Dolphins aren't ready to pull off the deal yet. As much as Clowney would help the defense, the Dolphins have to decide if it would be worth losing the cornerstone of their offensive line.

The Dolphins could also be trying to wait longer to see if the Texans would be okay taking someone else. One thing to remember is that Clowney still does have the final say in this trade because he hasn't signed the franchise tag, and doesn't have to sign it unless he gets trade to a team he wants to play for.
