Houston Texans left tackle Laremy Tunsil is still waiting to receive his lucrative payday. Regardless, he is not letting that stop him from getting a head start on helping the community.

Tunsil represented the Texans well when he recently committed $250,000 to aid in the relief of those struggling with the outbreak of COVID-19. He took to Twitter to announce that he will also help to pay the bills for those struggling during this pandemic:

“First and foremost, I hope everybody is staying safe, practicing your social distance and washing hands,” Tunsil said in his video. “I want to help in critical times like this. So If you have any necessities such as your light bill, your water bill, your car note, rent, etc., what I’m going to have you guys do is take a picture of that and send it to this email: Laremycares@gmail.com. My team will go through the emails and help in any way that we can.

“A huge thank you to the workers out there that are putting their life on the line daily for us. Thank you. Peace, love, prosperity and Go Texans!”

Tunsil announced that the money will be going toward helping both his hometown with the Florida Gateway Food Bank and Houston, the home of the Texans, through the Star of Hope Mission.

Tunsil is reportedly set to become the highest-paid tackle in the NFL this offseason after the Texans made quite the investment in order to bring him over from the Miami Dolphins. If they needed any more evidence of his character as a foundational piece of their playoff hopes, he has certainly managed to oblige.

Texans head coach Bill O'Brien has caught plenty of flak for the return he got from the trade involving wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. It is safe to say that fans are now more anxious than ever to know that Tunsil will be around for the long haul.
