The Texas A&M Aggies take on the Tennessee Volunteers in Omaha, Nebraska. Our College World Series odds package has our Texas A&M Tennessee prediction and pick. Find out how to watch Texas A&M Tennessee.

This is the final showdown, the best-of-three championship round in Omaha at the 2024 College World Series. For the second straight year, two SEC teams are going at it in the CWS Finals. In 2023, LSU beat Florida in three games. Now Texas A&M and Tennessee will see which SEC school will lift a trophy.

Texas A&M and Tennessee have both stormed through the rest of the field to get here. Neither team has lost a game en route to the finals. They both won their opening game, then their winners' bracket game, then their first semifinal game. They didn't have to play a second semifinal game. Neither team has faced elimination. Now we get to a point where A&M or Tennessee will finally lose a game and face elimination in Game 2.

A&M handled Florida twice and Kentucky once to get here. Tennessee used a dramatic late rally — with four straight two-out hits in the bottom of the ninth — to stun Florida State in Game 1 and set the tone for a successful week heading into the CWS Finals. The Vols then defeated North Carolina and beat FSU in a rematch to oppose A&M in the grand finale. A&M has come up with enough offense to make its way through the eight-team field and reach the finals. Tennessee has found enough pitching to go 3-0 and become one of the last two teams standing in Omaha. That said, A&M's main strength is pitching, and Tennessee's main strength is its power hitting. We will see which strength is stronger in Nebraska as the final weekend of college baseball unfolds in 2024.

Why Texas A&M Could Cover The Spread

The Aggies have gotten great pitching in Omaha at the CWS. Texas A&M pitchers have given up three runs in 27 innings, powering the Aggies to three wins over some formidable opponents with big-time hitters. Florida in particular has a potent offense, and the Aggies shut down the Gators twice in separate victories. Tennessee will pose a tough challenge, but Texas A&M does have the pitching to win this series. The fact that these teams are familiar with each other as SEC competitors should give A&M's pitchers a good idea of how to attack Tennessee's hitters. That awareness could help the Aggies come up with the right game plan throughout their starting rotation.

Why Tennessee Could Cover The Spread

The Vols' hitters can bring the thunder, and the fact that they have seen A&M's pitchers should give them a little boost in terms of seeing the spin of the ball out of the pitcher's hand and knowing which pitches are coming. If these teams were not from the same conference and had never seen each other up close, the dynamic might be more in favor of A&M … but it's not.

Final Texas A&M-Tennessee Prediction & Pick

Tennessee's familiarity with A&M's pitching gives the Vols an edge, but our official recommendation is to wait for a live play here.

Final Texas A&M-Tennessee Prediction & Pick: Tennessee -1.5
