Ever since she appeared in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Elizabeth Olsen has captivated Marvel fans with the way she portrays Wanda Maximoff, or her alter ego, the Scarlet Witch. After several films and a series on Disney+, the actress is taking another leap by starring in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, alongside Benedict Cumberbatch. But even after close to a decade of playing the Sokovian native, Olsen isn't showing any signs of slowing down. The secret? Well, it's fairly simple, according to the actress.

In an article by The Direct, Olsen opens up on why she has enjoyed her time playing the Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This comes as the actress is on a press tour for Doctor Strange 2.

“It’s not the most fun, in my mind, to always play the hero of a story when they do no wrong. I don’t find that interesting. I think the reason why I really enjoyed Wanda from the beginning is that she’s very clear in her beliefs. They just don’t align with others, and that’s okay. She’ll have her own realizations and admit when she makes mistakes,” Olsen said.

Of course, Maximoff's story as the Scarlet Witch continues into the upcoming Doctor Strange film as the pair enter the multiverse. Olsen, for her part, is carrying different plotlines left unanswered when WandaVision ended last year. There are expectations that her takeover of Westview, the undoing of her family, and eventual ownership of the Darkhold will play a part in the Multiverse of Madness.

As evidenced by recent Doctor Strange trailers, Olsen's Scarlet Witch will encounter her children, sport a new costume, and battle various multiversal threats along with Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange. It won't be long now before Marvel fans get to see how much love went into her role in this film because Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to premiere in less than a month.
