The Baltimore Ravens had a historic Saturday night, but they don't feel like they have something to celebrate. For one, it's just the preseason. Also, they seem to have lost an integral piece of their high-powered offense to injury.  Playing against the Washington Football Team on the road in Week 3 of the NFL preseason — the final week of these glorified exhibition games — the Ravens saw running back JK Dobbins go down with an apparent serious lower-body injury. Dobbins would be taken out of the game after just having two carries which he took for 15 rushing yards. He also had a catch for only two yards of gain.

By topping Washington in that game, 37-3, the Ravens set the record for longest win streak in NFL preseason history. You have to go all the way back to 2015 to check the last time this team lost in the preseason. That was when they fell prey to the Atlanta Falcons at home to the tune of a 20-19 score. Since then, the Ravens have racked up 20 wins in a row.

No team has taken these preseason games over the past handful of years more seriously than John Harbaugh's Ravens. There's a reason why people don't give much weight to whatever happens on the field during preseason games. The final scores don't mean anything, except to bettors who will endure a blowout game like this Ravens-Washington Football encounter from start to finish with clenched fists because they had bets on the totals line. But every year, the Ravens go out there and collect wins in the preseason akin to the way Lamar Jackson picks up all those yards.

Speaking of which, you can bet that Dobbins will not be in uniform once Week 1 of the 2021 NFL regular season comes around. He's yet to undergo medical tests to diagnose exactly what his injury is, but the visuals alone would tell you that it's something that will take several weeks — if not months — to heal up.

The Ravens were the top rushing team in the 2020 season in the NFL. They were No. 1 in rushing play percentage (55.04) and in rushing yards per game (192.1). Losing their No. 1 running back in Dobbins is a punch to the gut of their offense, and his injury would only leave a heavier burden on the shoulders of Jackson and a big hole on the offense that will have to be covered by Jackson, Gus Edwards, and Ty'Son Williams.

The Ravens got their record, but the preseason got them.
